St Peter and St Paul

This beautiful church with its distinctive lych-gate is a main landmark in the centre of the village.

The site of the church is thought to date back to the middle of the 5th Century with an early church on the present site visited by St. Augustine when he came to England in 597 A.D. The current church with its stone walled churchyard and yew lined path dates back to the 13th century.

The Friends of Long Compton Church holds events in the church throughout the year ranging from classical concerts to jazz and swing as well as lectures and talks. These events provide a wonderful community resource for the village as well as raising funds for the repair and upkeep of the church.
